Ahmed Musa was left out of the matchday squad.

The win lifted Palace to 14th on 17 points, while Leicester are eighth on 26 points in the league table.

Capital outfit Palace endured a historically awful start to the current campaign, after managing to lose their first 7 league fixtures, without scoring a single goal.

Wilfried Zaha is the go-to man as Palace's main striker Christian Benteke is nearly clocking 1000 minutes of action without scoring a goal.

Palace came into the game having not scored a goal away from home all season but Benteke made further amends as he set up the impressive Wilfried Zaha to score, with Bakary Sako adding a late third.

The visitors did make it 3-0 in the 94th minute, though, Loftus-Cheek leading a counterattack and squaring for substitute Sako to curl home and consign the Foxes to a first defeat in six matches.

On the pitch Benteke gave the flawless riposte by creeping in between Wes Morgan and Danny Simpson to head home Andros Townsend's cross and then stuck his fingers to his ears by way of celebration.

Leicester were trailing 2-0 when Wilfred Ndidi was sent off just after the hour mark for two yellow cards on his 21st birthday. Crystal Palace deserved this result; they played with desire, togetherness and quality.

Four minutes into the second half, Riyad Mahrez nearly scored for Leicester only to see Speroni get down superbly and palmed his low shot from nestling into the bottom right corner.

Benteke can be a formidable number nine when on song but is liable to long barren spells and a lack of competition for his starting spot has probably not helped his form.

Riyad Mahrez gave the ball away inside the Palace half and Benteke led a rapid counterattack before slipping in Zaha, who turned Ben Chilwell inside out and emphatically fired a low finish into the bottom corner.

Earlier on Friday, we relayed a story from Turkey claiming Besiktas were considering a move for Crystal Palace's Christian Benteke that could involve Cenk Tosun going the other way.
