"The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools", Trump tweeted on New Year's Day.

"We are still working with Pakistan and we would restore the aid if we see decisive movements against the terrorists who are as much of a threat against Pakistan as they are against us", said Defense Secretary Jim Mattis.

"Pakistan could be within their rights if they tell us you don't have flyover rights anymore", she said. The officer also hinted on the lift of the suspension if Pakistan complies and takes strict action against the militant terrorists.

The decision is seen as a knee-jerk reaction to mounting worldwide pressure on Pakistan to take action against Afghan militant groups allegedly operating from the country's soil.

"We do not believe this is the language of India". Pakistan closed them once before, after a 2011 U.S.

Briefing reporters, USA officials stressed the suspension did not affect civilian aid to Pakistan and that the money could go through if Islamabad took decisive action against the groups. According to a senior state department official, no decision has been taken on the fate of $255 million security assistance to Pakistan for the fiscal year 2017.

"W$3 e pay the Palestinians HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year and get no appreciation or respect".

"Today, we can confirm that we are suspending security assistance only to Pakistan at this time", US Department of State spokesperson Heather Nauert had disclosed in a press briefing.

US officials said two main categories of aid are affected: foreign military financing (FMF), which funds purchases of USA military hardware, training and services, and coalition support funds (CSF), which reimburse Pakistan for counter-terrorism operations. "I want to end all of it".

It was clear that the U.S. state department had not even decided on the exact quantum of aid that would be cut before it went public.

United Nations express deep concerns over Pakistan's decision to expel two million Afghan refugees one month's time.

"There will be exceptions made".

United States officials have already indicated that there could be "exemptions" for programs deemed vital to United States national security - likely including cash for keeping Pakistan's nuclear weapons safe. "I don't want to get into specific because the implementation is still being worked out but there certainly will be exceptions made when the items are deemed to be in the USA national security interests", the official said. Those adventures led to the creation of FATA, a buffer zone between Pakistan and Afghanistan, which later became the source of many troubles.

After South Korea and North Korea announced they would hold high-level talks, Trump took credit for the progress. We prefer to cooperate with Pakistan. We are hopeful that we will be able to cooperate in the future. But I think to be frank, Pakistan can not help the U.S. to win the war in Afghanistan. "What matters I think to the Pakistanis is that it is the symbolism of doing this that it represents a deterioration of our relationship that they care about a great deal", the official said.
