For the Winter Storm Watch, from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon.

Forecasters said commuters should plan for hard travel conditions, with reduced visibility at times. However, forecasters said, new accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible on the hills above 500 feet.

Snow began to fall at the Mariposa County Sheriff's Office late Thursday morning. Significant reductions in visibility are possible.

Another, bigger snowstorm is on its way to Sioux City, beginning sometime between 6 and 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

"Some places had 6 or 7 (inches)", he said.

"It's set to be the best powder day of the season with a clear sky this morning and mountain full of untouched blower (snow)", Mammoth's website read. Winds will be breezy in Central Oregon gusting around 40 miles per hour at times. Plan on hard travel conditions.

Wednesday does bring in another system with a chance of a combination of rain and snow and some of that light snow may linger into early Thursday.

Current forecast models suggest snow totals to be anywhere between 4 and 8 inches Saturday through Sunday night, with locally higher amounts (6 to 12 inches) from south/southeastern Minnesota (including the Minneapolis metro area) through northwestern Wisconsin. However, the areas that do will have slick, snow-covered roads or icy roads and potential travel delays.
