Apple has announced that its global facilities are now powered with fully by clean energy, this includes retail stores, offices, data centers as well as new facilities in 43 countries including India.

The company says since 2011, their renewable energy projects have reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 54 percent from its worldwide facilities, and stopped nearly 2.1 million metric tons of CO2e from the atmosphere. So we'll keep signing contracts to buy more renewable energy.

The US tech giant also said nine suppliers had recently committed to running their operations entirely on renewable energy sources like wind and solar, bringing to 23 the total number to make such a pledge, Reuters reports.

Apple's been pushing for more investment in renewable energy for quite some time now, and almost two years ago announced that its operations in 23 countries, including the U.S. and United Kingdom, were completely powered by renewable sources.

Because Apple is working with partners and utilities on wide-ranging renewable projects, new energy options are emerging for communities and countries worldwide.

Since 2014, all of Apple's data centres have been powered by 100 percent renewable energy.

Dedicated exclusively to Wynn Las Vegas, the Wynn solar facility offsets up to 75 percent of the resort's peak power requirements.

Apple's renewable energy projects around the world amount to a staggering 626 megawatts (MW) of generation capacity, with 286 MW coming from photovoltaic solar production that came online in 2017 alone. "After years of hard work we're proud to have reached this significant milestone", Cook said. The company's new headquarters, Apple Park in Cupertino, California, runs on renewable energy, including a 17-megawatt rooftop solar panel project and four megawatts of biogas fuel cells.

Although Apple has shifted to using purely.

Through this program, Google will procure 78.8 megawatts (MW) of solar energy for our Douglas County, Georgia data center, as part of our effort to utilize renewable energy in every market where we operate.

A floating solar photovoltaic facility outside Nagoya, Japan producing power for one of Apple's component suppliers, Ibiden. Once built, it will have over 1.4GW of renewable energy generation across 11 countries.
