Eight Cameroonian athletes are reported missing at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Five boxers and three weightlifters from Cameroon have gone missing from the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games athlete's village since Sunday.

The five boxers and three weightlifters - representing a third of the Cameroon team - disappeared from the athletes' village at Griffith University, the Cameroon delegation said.

Eight Cameroon athletes have gone missing from the athlete's village on the Gold Coast.

We have officially informed our hierarchy back home: the ministry of sports and the president of the National Olympic Committee of Cameroon. "And if they are thinking of doing anything other, I would encourage them not to".

"We would appreciate them sticking within the law - enjoying themselves but sticking within the law", Mr Beattie said.
"New Zealand are a good team, they did well against Australia and I want our boys to soak up this energy from this match against England and focus on the semifinal".

Of the missing, six had competed without winning medals, while two were still to take part in the Games.

For the second time in three Commonwealth Games‚ South Africa has failed to win a boxing medal.

But two goals in the last two minutes from Varun Kuumar and Mandeep Singh - with barely 30 seconds left on the clock - left them beaten and in second place in the group. If there is a breach then Peter Dutton and his department will deal with it.

Here's a look back at today's Commonwealth Games action, and a preview of the day seven events that get underway tonight.

"While the athletes are free to travel within Australia, we share the concern of the Cameroon Commonwealth Games Association of the safety, welfare and whereabouts of the athletes".

Nayana James and Neena Varakil made it to the finals of the women's long jump event after finishing ninth and 12th respectively overall in the qualification round in the Commonwealth Games.

During the London 2012 Olympics, 21 athletes and delegates either vanished or asked for asylum in the UK.

"Government is especially elated at our star athlete Caster Semenya's smashing win in which she broke the world record in the 1500m race and finished in a time of 4:00.71", the government said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Cameroonian athletes are nowhere according to reports meanwhile; they have valid visas until May 15, allowing them to spend another month legally in Australia.
