Mohammed Bin Salman, Saudi Arabia's crowned prince, said Palestinians should accept the peace conditions imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump or "shut up and stop complaining", during a meeting with heads of Jewish organizations in NY.

Al-Jazeera, quoting Channel 10 news citing Israeli diplomatic wire, reported that during a closed-door meeting on March 27 in NY with the Jewish organisations' leaders, bin Salman harshly criticised Palestinian President Mehmoud Abbas.

Bin Salman's criticism of Palestinian leadership was corroborated by an Israeli foreign ministry cable sent by one of their diplomats in NY.

Bin Salman's comments reportedly surprised Jewish leaders present at the meeting, with a source saying people "literally fell off their chairs".

"The Palestinian issue is not a top priority for the Saudi government or for the Saudi public", he reportedly said.

Last month, Saudi Arabia opened its air space for the first time to a commercial flight to Israel, a move hailed by an Israeli official as historic following two years of efforts. He added, however, much work still needs to be done on the peace process in order for Saudi Arabia to normalize relations with Israel, according to Channel 10 News.

The charge sheet, a copy of which AFP obtained from a source who attended the first hearing, said the two suspects had traveled to the kingdom which is home to Islam's holiest site on passports of an Arab country.

In February, Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority said it would stage more than 5,000 festivals and concerts in 2018, double last year's figure, and pump $64 billion (53 billion euros) into the sector in the coming decade.

The newly appointed U.S. secretary of state arrived in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, the first leg in a tour of the region and the first stop in his first foreign trip since his swearing-in on Thursday.

Mohammed bin Salman and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, reportedly enjoy close relations. "I believe the Palestinians and the Israelis have the right to have their own land", he stated.
