Unrest on the border of Israel injured more than a thousand people

IDF Develops Gunsight That Will Aid Soldiers in Shooting Down Fire Kites Israeli army opens fire on Gaza protesters sixth week in a row

The New York Times nowhere mentions any human rights organizations or the case before the Israeli high court. Visiting the Middle East earlier this week, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo lent his support to Israel's handling of the border protests. Since the beginning of protests has killed 41 people.

The Israeli army fears a mass push of thousands of protesters to break through the Gaza border fence and cross into Israel.

But you have to wait until the 7th paragraph to learn that the Israeli army continued yesterday to use its "battle plan" - by firing live ammunition at the Palestinians, wounding 121 of the protesters.

In an attempt to mitigate the threat, the Israel Defense Forces have developed a new gunsight that should make it easier for soldiers to shoot down kites sent across the border.

Six Palestinians were wounded, including one seriously, by IDF live fire in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, the Gaza Health Ministry said.

"While some Palestinian demonstrators have thrown stones and other objects towards the fence, it's hard to believe how this would be an imminent danger to the lives of well-equipped soldiers protected by snipers, tanks and drones", Amnesty International has said.

GAZA BORDER- 431 Palestinians were injured on Friday after Israeli troops fired live rounds and tear gas at them, reported Reuters.

Forty-nine Palestinians have been killed since protests and clashes began along the Gaza border on March 30 and hundreds of others have been wounded by gunfire.

In addition, two army drones crashed in the Gaza Strip during the day's events. Israel's government celebrated the United States decision, saying it recognized the "reality" that Jerusalem was the historic capital of the Jewish people.

"The matter is being looked into", a statement from the army said. Israel has been facing global censure over its use of live fire in the protests.

It also alleges Hamas, the Islamist movement that runs the Gaza Strip and with whom it has fought three wars since 2008, is seeking to use the protests as cover to carry out violence.

Trump's moves angered Palestinian leaders, who have refused to talk to his administration, accusing it of pro-Israel bias.
