Authorities in the USA state of Hawaii say 26 homes have been destroyed by burning lava from Kilauea volcano. Yesterday afternoon the FAA issued a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) for the area to prevent drones from interfering with first aid responders.
Hawaiian Volcano Observatory geologist, Janet Babb, said that local residents should be very careful because "lava could break to the surface, and it could do so fairly quickly".
Though residents are anxious and sad, Sonner said she understands the reality of the situation.

It was the collapse of a lava-filled crater in the East Rift Zone on Monday that set off this week's eruption.
"A collapse of the Pu'u" "O'o crater floor Monday afternoon on Kilauea Volcano's East Rift Zone has prompted an increase in seismicity and deformation along a large section of the rift neon, with seismicity now occurring as far east as Hwy 130".
About 250 individuals and 90 pets spent Saturday evening at shelters, the American Pink Cross mentioned. It's spurting out of volcanic vents that have opened in Kilauea's rift zone, an area of fissures miles away from the volcano's summit.
The increased seismic and volcanic activity is expected to continue for days, if not weeks, to come.
Some of those evacuated were allowed back to their homes briefly today to rescue pets and retrieve valuables.
At least nine homes have now been destroyed, Hawaii County officials said.
"Please, the residents of Leilani need your help".
In the uncertainty, however, some residents found comfort in the abiding beauty of the Big Island.
The southeast corner of the island was rocked by a powerful magnitude 6.9 quake on the volcano's south flank on Friday, the strongest tremor since 1975, and more earthquakes and eruptions were forecast, perhaps for months to come.
"This is heartbreaking", she said. The woman, Amber Makuakane, told The Associated Press her three-bedroom house was right across from a fissure that had opened Friday. "The natural disaster was what made us start running and start throwing guinea pigs and bunnies in the auto".

"I mean new land is being formed and created, new earth, and it's just wonderful sight to see. It's part of my being". Another neighborhood, Lanipuna Gardens, remains under a mandatory evacuation order because of the high levels of toxic gases in the air. The number of lava-venting fissures in the neighborhood grew overnight from eight to as many as 10, Stovall said, though some have quieted down at various points. Scientists have reported lava spewing more than 200 feet (61 meters) into the air. A water truck is located near the Vacationland mailboxes for public use. Customers must restrict water use to health and safety needs only, the department said. Officials ordered a rare closure of the park.
