Lethal Weapon Recasts Lead With Seann William Scott as New Character

The drama behind the scenes of the Lethal Weapon show has been well-documented over the last few months, now Damon Wayans will stay in his role as Roger Murtaugh, with the show being renewed for a third season.

After Scott was announced as his replacement, Crawford shared a message of congratulations to the cast and crew of Lethal Weapon on Instagram, adding, "Riggs was a dream role and the experience will live with me forever". To the Fans - Thank you for the overwhelming support and love.

LETHAL WEAPON is a production of Warner Bros.

Good news for Lethal Weapon fans - it's all set to come back for a third season on Fox... but there's going to be one major change to the lineup!

Crawford's contract to play Martin Riggs was not renewed two weeks after two on-set incidents for which he was reprimanded were brought to light.




Episodes of LETHAL WEAPON are available on FOX NOW, Hulu and On Demand.

Lethal Weapon has been a solid hit for Fox, coming second in the network's drama ratings behind Empire. As for Warner Bros. Having been fired as a result of the renewal, Crawford posted a picture on Instagram offering his well wishes to the rest of the cast and congratulating them on the new season. Producers were left to scramble to find a new actor to replace Crawford in the two-hander, with multiple stars passing on offers to join the Fox show until Scott engaged.
