In Battlefield V, embark on a continuing, grand journey post-launch in the brand new Tides of War, created to make sure the battlefield is constantly evolving with new events, challenges, battles, and rewards that are always within reach - for all Battlefield V owners*. And even Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is going to have a battle royale mode (though the developer is cagey about quite how large it'll be).

There will nearly certainly be a very flashy first trailer released for Battlefield 5, along with details on key modes. Grand Operation will support 64 players in total.

Senior Producer at DICE, Andreas Morell, said in a press release: "With Battlefield V, we wanted to align with a partner who shares our passion for PC gaming".

EA and Dice have confirmed Battlefield V will be the next instalment in the first person shooter series, with the game returning to its Second World War setting.

As fans of the franchise had long suspected, the game, titled Battlefield V would be set during World War II. There will be a mode called "Combined Arms", which will put up to four players up against waves of bots in a "wide variety of missions". No one will need to pay for additional maps or modes that DICE releases. The Company allows players to create and deeply customize their soldiers, weapons and vehicles that will evolve as they progress, covering everything from the way they look to the way they play. Deluxe Edition owners will gain early access on October 16, Origin Access and EA Access subscribers will receive a Play First trial on October 11. The first chapter of Tides of War starts in November and will focus on the fall of Europe. While the concept art that was shown was absolutely gorgeous, the presentation did little to generate hype.

World War 2 as You've Never Seen It Before - Take the fight to unexpected but crucial moments of the war, as Battlefield goes back to where it all began.

One other interesting point touched upon in the reveal last night was the inclusion of co-op.
