Warriors’ Game 6 Revival Keeps Series Alive Against the Rockets

Patrick McCaw got to see his first game action since injuring his back on March 31, and the Golden State Warriors fans loved it. The Rockets went 15-9 without Paul during the regular season - 15-6 when probable MVP James Harden and blossoming star center Clint Capela both played - but were blown out by the Warriors in Game 6 despite building an early 17-point lead.

Curry (the Warriors $201 million point guard) passed up the big shot, opting to trust Green to catch a pass and either stick a game victor or hit Klay Thompson in the corner. The Rockets' 50-point third quarter Game 4 of their first-round series with the Minnesota Timberwolves bested the 1987 Lakers. If he can not come up big and get Golden State back to the NBA Finals, the critics will only grow louder for Durant.

The Warriors opened as five-point favorites at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook for Game 7. We're all tied, 3-3, after Game 6 in Golden State on Saturday night.

Losing a Game 6 in that fashion would be very hard on a lot of teams, but for Gerald Green and the Rockets, they still have confidence that they can win Game 7.

Of course, the Warriors have had health issues of their own in the series, with Andre Iguodala having missed Games 4 and 5 with a bruised left knee.

"We have an opportunity to re-establish ourselves at home, get a big win, keep ourselves alive, and then roll the dice into Game 7", Curry said.

Though his stoic, quietly confident demeanor is his trademark, the fire comes out of Klay occasionally - like it did on Saturday, or last summer in China - and the Warriors know that when it reveals itself, it's a good sign. "We've got to win two basketball games and we've done that an bad lot, so we're very confident".

"I mean, I guess you could say I was born for it", he said, as the interview room inside Oracle Arena erupted with laughter.

The 2018 Western Conference Finals are going to a seventh game.

The Warriors have forced a Game 7 in Houston by outscoring the Rockets 64-25 in the second half of a 115-86 blowout win for Golden State. Houston built a 17-point lead by the end of the first quarter, making 8-of-12 3-pointers. "When we're locked in and we take care of the ball, then we have a great chance of catching fire, like we did (in Game 6)". "He's one of the best point guards in the league, but if he doesn't play, we'll figure it out". In Game 6, they were not hitting those shots, and defensively they let Hill and other supporting Cavaliers get rolling.

They are aiming for a fourth successive National Basketball Association finals appearance, while Houston last made the finals in 1995.
