Any new content added to the desktop subsequently will be automatically added to specific stacks. That should make it far less time-consuming to bring iOS apps to the Mac App Store - which Apple just completely redesigned, by the way.

To more cheers from developers, Apple also announced a redesigned Mac App Store for the Mojave update, expanding a new look the company introduced to iPhones and iPads previous year.

For those of us who'd prefer something a bit easier on the eyes, Apple is introducing "Dark Mode" in MacOS Mojave. Users can sort stacks based on date or tags.

Apple said the new News, Stocks, Voice Memos, and Home apps were ported from iOS to the Mac desktop from their original iOS codebase, and starting with late 2019, these features should be available for the rest of iOS/Mac app developers as well. Aside from offering a gentler mode on the eye in low-light environments, this offers no additional functionality.

Apple is adding the News app to the macOS Mojave as well.

The Mac App Store is also getting a redesign.

So if you can't wait until the final version of the operating system is released this fall, or if your current Mac won't be compatible with Mojave, you can still get a taste of these great new wallpapers.

On macOS Mojave, when you take a screenshot, it will appear in the lower right corner and when you click it, you will get that markup option. First up is a new Gallery View mode, which includes a large preview of the now selected file with thumbnails of the folder contents below. Now, ahead of the official unveiling, some new details about macOS 10.14's upcoming features have been leaked online. Stacks is an easy way to collate files of the same file type you have scattered around on your desktop. Would you use Digital Wellbeing / Screen Time?

Another major change this year is the cross-platform framework that will allow developers to easily offer their apps across both iOS and macOS.

In Mojave, screenshots will now drop a small thumbnail at the bottom of the screen and users will be able to immediately edit them, much like in iOS.

As is the case with most Apple software updates, macOS Mojave comes with a number of enhanced privacy and security updates as well.

The new update will be available this spring for Aussie users. According to the company's new data protection policy, the user permission is required to access Mac camera or microphone as well as to retrieve personal data from Mail history and Messages database. Apple says users on macOS Mojave using Safari browser can relax with all-new Intelligent Tracking Prevention which will help block social media Like or Share buttons and comment widgets from tracking users without permission.
