Matthews' family was understandably shocked by the news of their son's death, but remembered him a fitting way.

Matthews was shot and killed in the Florida area of New Orleans June 26.

Renard Matthews, who passed away at 17 years old, was a Celtics fan and enjoyed playing the National Basketball Association 2K video game. At his wake at the Charbonnet Labat Glapion funeral home in Treme, a very unconventional service was held.

In photos, Matthews is seen sitting upright in a chair while wearing a Kyrie Irving Celtics jersey and playing video games with a controller in his hand.

Matthews' body was sat lounged back in a padded swivel chair, and he was dressed in his Boston Celtics vest.

Renard Matthews, who passed away two weeks ago, was a big Kyrie Irving fan. His favorite snacks, cereal, Barq's Root Beer and Doritos were placed on a side table next to him.

With this in mind, when Matthews was being prepared for the wake, his family made a decision to have him presented in a way that spoke to who he was and what he loved.
