Burnley have had a tricky start to the season Burnley have had a tricky start to the season

The Red Devils have endured a mixed start to the season, with defeats to Brighton and Tottenham, but returned to winning ways over the weekend with a 2-0 victory over Burnley.

By that stage, United was comfortably in front thanks to two goals from Romelu Lukaku and could even afford the luxury of a missed Paul Pogba penalty, won by Rashford following a foul by Ben Mee.

"He was very confident before the game he prepared the game in a very good way", the defensive midfielder said.

"No, no. I think he is dealing very well with the pressure", Matic said.

Before kickoff, supporters paid for a small plane to fly over the ground, towing a banner that read: "Ed Woodward, a specialist in failure".

Mourinho will be aiming for his Manchester United side to establish themselves as one of the main contenders for the title this season.

Another huge talking point from the game was the sending off of Marcus Rashford for a "headbutt" on Burnley right back Phil Bardsley.

"Everything [pleased me]. The first 10 minutes were the mirror of the game".

"You can't tell me that Gareth wouldn't wouldn't want someone like Marcus Rashford playing regularly".

"(Referee Jonathan) Moss had a good game, a good performance, really.

'I just want to take this opportunity to thank the incredible medical department and the coach, who has believed in me since day one'.

"We lost at home, the fans were fantastic to the team, the team understood that the direction was good, the result was bad".

Mourinho's job isn't thought to be under threat despite the poor start to the campaign, with United hoping to build on Sunday's victory over the Clarets after the global break.

The centre-back misjudged Sanchez's cross to give Lukaku a free header for his first, sat deep to play the United man onside for his second and could have conceded a penalty for bringing him down in the closing stages.

The Portuguese said the right attitude for the Burnley match had its roots in the positive way the Old Trafford crowd had responded to the loss to Spurs.

At Old Trafford we lost at home but the fans were awesome.

Seven of the biggest clubs across Europe have each spent more than €1 billion in transfer fees on players since 2010, according to the Daily Mail's report on a new study from the CIES Football Observatory, a data and analytics firm.

"We won 2-0 but we also had many chances to score, but I am happy with 2-0".
