Celebrity website TMZ reported that Miller died in Los Angeles of an apparent drug overdose but Reuters could not confirm that.

Los Angeles Fire Department officials said they responded to a death investigation at a home at the 11600 block of Valleycrest Road on Friday.

Miller's real name was Malcolm McCormick and he was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on January 19, 1992.

Today, the music world was shook with the news that Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller had passed away at the age of 26. Having already gained a following via mixtapes, touring and singles like "Donald Trump", his debut, "Blue Slide Park", released in 2011, entered the Billboard album chart at #1.

Miller released his fifth album, Swimming, on August 3.

Mac Miller and Ariana Grande perform on stage, June 4, 2017, in Manchester, England for the "One Love Manchester" benefit concert.

Miller and singer Ariana Grande dated for two years, and she confirmed in May that the couple had split.

He continued releasing successful albums and mixtapes and in 2014, he signed with Warner Bros. After their breakup, she voiced her concern about his health.

Grande, after a Twitter user appeared to blame her for the break-up, wrote on the social media platform in May that the relationship was "toxic" and she had "cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years". After they split in May, he wrecked his vehicle and was later arrested for DUI and hit-and-run.

In May, he was arrested in Los Angeles in connection with a auto crash and was later charged with driving under the influence.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
