Turkey on Monday called on Saudi Arabia to reveal the "whole truth" about the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, as the whereabouts of the journalist's body dominated a visit to the country by Riyadh's top prosecutor.

Germany has vowed to halt all German arms exports to Saudi Arabia until the killing of Khashoggi is explained.

Asked at a news conference in Prague how a Saudi government investigation could get to the bottom of whether the crown prince was involved in ordering the killing, Mattis emphasized that evidence Turkish authorities have gathered would also be taken into account.

Saudi authorities denied Turkish police permission to search a well in the garden of the consulate, but did allow them to take water samples for analysis, local media reported.

Asked about the whereabouts of Khashoggi's body, which remain a mystery almost a month after his death, Cavusoglu said that "as those who committed the murder are in Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia has a very large responsibility".

The fiancée of Jamal Khashoggi on Monday criticized President Donald Trump's response to his killing, urging him to set aside US trade interests in the push for truth, and demanded Riyadh disclose more details to bring those who ordered it to justice.

Khashoggi entered the consulate around 1pm on October 2 to retrieve paperwork for his upcoming marriage to his Turkish fiancee, Hatice Cengiz.

He did not walk out of the consulate and Ms Cengiz, who was waiting outside, first raised the alarm.

"We know the orders came from a member of the royal circle but have no direct information to link them to Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman", the article further quoted the source as saying. However, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubeir said on Saturday that the 18 suspects arrested over the killing of Khashoggi will be prosecuted in the kingdom.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, who Ms. Cengiz praised, has urged Riyadh to disclose who ordered the murder and prosecutors have prepared an extradition request for 18 suspects from Saudi Arabia.

"President Trump should help reveal the truth and ensure justice be served. If only I knew that would be the last time I would see my Jamal, his smile, hear his laughter, I would have stood in front of that murderous team myself", she said.

"He should not pave the way for a cover-up of my fiance's murder. And we're doing that - starting by revoking the visas of 21 Saudi officials and discussing sanctions", said U.S. Sen. "Let's not let money taint our conscience and compromise our values", she told a memorial in London for the slain Washington Post columnist. "Jamal was my beloved fiancée, but he was also a gentle human being, a loving man, a journalist and a true believer in democracy and freedom in the Arab world", she said.

They say they have audio and video evidence to support this claim.

Turkish law required that Mr. Khashoggi, who was divorced, provide proof that he did not have a wife and thus his trip to the consulate.

Under mounting global pressure, Saudi Arabia has changed its narrative about Khashoggi's killing several times, recently acknowledging that Turkish evidence shows it was premeditated. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, who is chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
