During a press briefing on Monday, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said it's "outrageous" to blame President Trump for the deadly shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue or the package bombs that were mailed to high-profile Democrats.

A woman stands at a memorial outside the Tree of Life synagogue after a shooting there left 11 people dead in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh on Saturday.

"Once again, I'll remind you that the very first thing the president did was condemn the attacker and the very first thing the media did was blame the president", Sanders told Jackson, adding, "You guys have a huge responsibility to play in the divisive nature of this country".

Democratic Senator Chris Murphy, of CT, went on Twitter to express dismay at Trump's latest attack on the media: "This is, for all practical purposes, a call for more violence against the press".

The White House announcement also came despite an open letter to the president from the leaders of a Jewish group in Pittsburgh saying Trump is not welcome there until he publicly states opposition to white nationalism, the Washington Post reported. "And I would also say at the same time that some individuals, they're grieving". "The president's going to continue to fight back when these individuals not only attack him but attack members of his administration and supporters of his administration".

"I don't know why he thinks the Jews are responsible for all the ills in the world, but he's not the first and he won't be the last", Werber said. "How does he do that when, in the case of pipe bombers, this was somebody who went to Trump rallies, this is somebody who had a van covered with attacks on the media and praise for the president?"

"Would that include my outlet?" Bowers' feed on Gab was filled with anti-Semitic slurs, as well as insults directed at US President Donald Trump, who he believed was surrounded by "too many" Jews.

The Jewish community of Pittsburgh, like so many other communities, is very politically diverse. which means you will find lots of folks who will say the office of the presidency deserves great respect. "And they were the religious heart of the Tree of Life community", Sanders said.

Bowers was a long-haul trucker who worked for himself, U.S. Attorney Scott Brady said.

Critics of Trump have said that his incendiary rhetoric has contributed to a rise in extremism and could be perceived by radicals as a green light for violence.

During the White House press briefing Monday, a reporter said to Sanders that it seemed as though Trump has been "blaming" the media for recent events.

"The president spends every single minute of every single day looking for the best ways to protect the safety and security of Americans", she said.

"I don't think it's necessarily specific to a general, broad generalization of a full outlet", Sanders explained.
