Camilla sparkles alongside Prince Charles for ritzy black-tie event

Prince Charles of Britain on Thursday praised Gambians for rejecting "autocratic" rule and giving democracy a chance.

Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, are taking a page from sons William and Harry and their wives by posing in a series of intimate photos for Vanity Fair to complement the magazine's candid interview with the heir apparent.

Who else Prince Charles will meet with a number of British Ghanaians in the business, arts, culture and media industries.

Prior to Prince Charles and Camilla's visit to Ghana, President Akufo-Addo said that he looks forward to meeting them both and "we look forward to receiving him, as his visit will renew and strengthen the bonds of friendship between the United Kingdom and Ghana".

The Ghana Armed Forces Military Band played the national anthems of the UK & Ghana.




His Royal Highness will visit the Christiansborg Castle, once a Danish and then British, slave fort, which was until a few years ago the seat of Ghana's Government after independence, to discuss the future restoration and reuse of the area, as part of a major redevelopment of Accra's waterfront, conceived by the Ghanaian Government with the architect Sir David Adjaye.

The Royal plane CS-TFY, with blue and white colours touched down at the runway at 1348 hours.

Among the dignitaries who were also at the airport were the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ms Shirley Ayokor Botchway; the Defence Minister, Mr Dominic Nitiwul; the Aviation Minister, Mr Joseph Kofi Adda, and Ghana's High Commissioner to the UK, Papa Owusu-Ankomah.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall have arrived at Jubilee House in Accra for an official welcome ceremony.

The royal pair will fly to Ghana on Friday and to Nigeria on November 6.
